Managing diabetes is a lifelong commitment. Through greater knowledge and awareness, individuals often assume major responsibility for managing this chronic disease.
Our Center for Diabetes, Nutrition, Obesity and Metabolism offers a comprehensive program that provides information to help patients and their families manage diabetes and prevent complications. It is one of 120 programs in Illinois recognized by the American Diabetes Association.
The compassionate staff of our Center for Diabetes will assist you in setting goals to improve your diet and increase your physical activity. We will show you how to monitor your blood sugar, and we will give you tips to reduce stress. We will also coordinate specialty care such as eye, foot and wound examinations.
We offer education and support in both individual and group settings and in both English and Spanish. We will work with your primary care physician to ensure you receive quality diabetes care and education that helps you live a healthy life with diabetes.
